Ghostriders Add MacIntyre to Staff

The Fernie Ghostriders have rounded out their coaching staff for the upcoming season. Head Coach/GM Jeff Wagner announced on Wednesday that they have added Andy MacIntyre to the team as a Skills Coach. MacIntyre joins the team following years at the minor hockey level focusing on player development in the Elk Valley. Prior to his involvement in player development, Andy experienced an 8-year pro career that concluded in 2002. He also played 4 years in the WHL and started his junior career with the Elk Valley Raiders in the KIJHL.

Wagner had this to say on bringing Andy on board with the team: “It’s exciting to bring Andy in and to start collaborating with him to improve skill development for our program in Fernie. We are always looking at different ways to enhance our program and give our players resources to improve on and off the ice. Andy has the enthusiasm for player development and professional playing experience that we believe will be beneficial to our players and our staff as we continue to work towards a championship.”

With the BCHL announcing a December 1st start date, the KIJHL has stuck firm with an October 2nd start. An update to confirm the start date or make changes is expected in the coming weeks.
