Ghostrider Report Sept 28/25

Fernie 2 @ Kamloops 3

Hayden Evans 2G 3A in 5 games

In Kamloops the Ghostriders were all over the Storm in the first two periods. The Storm were chasing, taking penalties and  Nate Turton and Haden Evans each scored 5 on 3 PP goals… but (a recurring theme) they couldn’t finish the other great chances they had and it cost them in the end.

Hudson Brett

In the third period, down 2-1, the Storm had the edge in play and the Riders were the ones chasing and they took three penalties. In the last two minutes of the game Guy Schmirler scored both the tying and winning goals. The game winner came with just twenty-seven seconds left on the clock, it was a fluke that hit the glass behind the net then bounced in off Hudson Brett

Brett stopped 21 of 24 shots and the Storm’s Brenner Fyfe stopped 28 of 30

The Riders went 2-5 on the power play, Kamloops was 0-4 on the PP thanks to the penalty kill and #17 Jaden Piper who caught the eye of the play by play guys for his PK efforts.

The Kamloops video didn’t show replays but it was clear and the announcers were alright.

Owen MacLeod was injured on a big hit in the second period and didn’t finish the game.

398 fans in Kamloops, Hayden Evans and Ryan Pedersen were the game stars.

Fernie 3 @ Chase 6

In Chase the Ghostriders fired 66 shots at Chase game star Stanisliv Stefaniv but could only score three goals. Just like in Kamloops the Riders third period killed them, Malcom Anderson scored the game winning goal and the insurance goal (PP) then Jake Bishop scored into the empty net.

Boston Logan scored his 1st goal

The Riders had goals from Stephen Jones, Ben Skarsen and Boston Logan. Jones and Logan’s goals were their first, Skarsen’s was his second on the season Coden Fournier was Fernie’s game star.

Sam Epp was in net for the first four goals and Kade Lewis let in one in the third period.

The shots were 66-23 Fernie
Fernie was 2-5 and Chase 2-3 on the power play

Attendance 190
Video was clear with replays and more than one camera, the announcer very good and knew all the names.
