The Money for Friends for Friends came from the Jersey sales

The Ghostriders played three games last weekend, they lost 4-3 in overtime against Creston, in Golden they blasted the Rockets 7-2 then lost 7-6 in a shootout to the Columbia Valley Rockies.The Riders earned 4 of 6 points and are tied with the Rockies for second place. The Riders play in Creston on Tuesday, Columbia Valley Friday and Castlegar Saturday 

 

Notes 

The Ghostriders have been looking for an AC since the start of the season and finally they got Jason Fournier to step in as an assistant coach. Jason’s sons Cole and Coden both play for the Riders, Coden (05) played his first game December 1st and scored his first Rider goal in Golden, Cole has played 95 regular season games over 3 seasons… Mike Anderson is also an AC but is not always available, he works a 7-7 schedule as an electrician… Eric Martin was named as one of the KIJHL’s “Three Stars of the Week” he had 3 goals and an assist against Kimberley in the Christmas Classic, and 10 points in his last 5 gamesJack Lambert was on a 6 game point streak when he injured his shoulder December 1st, he is still in a sling and a long way away from playing again… Andrew Karam was injured on December 16th, he is much closer to skating again… Goalie Aiden Kruhlak (94) has retired from hockey, Aiden played 44 games over two seasons and had a 21- 19 record with 4 shutouts… Hunter Sperle (03) has signed on with the Unity Miners of the SWHL, in 7 games he has 3G, it is amazing just how many towns have senior hockey teams in Saskatchewan…Cole Fisher played his 100th regular season game last Friday, this is his third and final year with the Riders… 

Friday night in Fernie in front of 975 fans the Creston Thunder Cats defeated the Fernie Ghostriders 4-3 in overtime.

The Ghostriders had a 3-2 lead after the second period but with 1:30 left in the third Nikolai Morrison scored his second of the game to take it to overtime. In the OT Landon Hedges scored the winner on the power play.

CVT’s Luke Chakrabarti had a goal and 2 assists FGR Taylor Haggerty a goal and an assist.

Cantini Dario stopped 62 of 65 shots and Levi Hall stopped 30 of 34.

Some nice goals were scored in this game that featured 95 shots and 7 goals. The PP’s CVT 1-1 FGR 1-4

Saturday in Golden the Riders scored four goals in the first, two in the second and one in the third period. The shots ended up 44-36 FGR and on the the power play each team went 0-2. The attendance was 285.

Hudson Scrimshaw had two goals and both Riley Enns and Eric Martin had 3 assists. Nick Kunyk got the win in net.

On Sunday in Fernie in front of 455 fans the Ghostriders lost 7-6 in a game that saw the lead change almost by the minute to go along with the almost constant penalties. The shots were 43-37 Rockies.

When it  was all over 6 different Riders had scored, CVR’s Kealan Shelton had a hat-trick and Kobe Mason had the shootout winner.

Fernie was 3-10 and the Rockies 1-5 on the power play and there several fights, head shots, misconducts and 107 PIM . See the full game sheet here
