Full-Time KIJHL Assistant Coach Position

The Fernie Ghostriders of The KIJHL Are Searching for A Full-Time Assistant Coach For The Upcoming 2023-24 Season.

This Is a Full-Time Position Within The Ghostriders Organization.

Salary Dependent On Experience.

Relocation To Fernie Is Required

Team & Organization: The Assistant Coach Will Support the Head Coach / GM In All Aspects of The Ghostriders Team Operations, Which Include but Not Limited to Practice Planning, Video Breakdown, On-Ice Practice Implementation, Overseeing Off-Ice Workouts And Participation In Community Events. The Assistant Coach Will Work Closely with The Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Training Staff, As Well As Game Day Operations Staff to Ensure Efficient Team Operations.

Responsibilities: Must Be Able to Recruit Players to Create a Highly Competitive Team. Work With Ghostriders Board, and Billet Coordinator and Occasionally Assist in Obtaining Qualified Billet Families as Well as Implement Screening for All Billets Required by BC Hockey, Hockey Canada and The KIJHL. Assist In Coordinating Practices, Off-Ice Ice Training as Well as Gym Workouts. Assist In Video Breakdown for Team Sessions, Individual Player Sessions, and PreScout of Opponents. Demonstrate Strong Bench Management Abilities During Games and Actively Assist in Promoting All Team Players to Collegiate Levels. Instill Teamwork, Discipline and Accountability Throughout the Team

Qualifications: Ideal Candidate Shall Have High-Level Playing Experience Including U18, Junior, College, or The Professional Level. Previous Coaching Experience at The College, Junior, Or U18 Levels is Preferred. Hockey Canada Development 1 Certification or Actively Pursuing Development 1 is required. Strong Communication Skills Strong Leadership Abilities Detail-Oriented with Organizational Skills Must Pass Background Check and Complete all Required Clinics by BC Hockey. Must Be Professional in Approach and Represent Well Within the Community.
