Training Camp Report

The Fernie Ghostriders Training Camp has concluded after three days of scrimmages and physical testing and now it’s off to play a home and home with the Golden Rockets. We are in Golden on Tuesday September 3rd and back home in Fernie on Wednesday the fourth.

On Saturday September 7th we play our third exhibition game in Kimberley then on Friday the 13th Kimberley comes here to Fernie to play our final exhibition game.

Head Coach Chad Scharff on the Main Camp

Scharff “I thought camp was unique in the sense that we didn’t have a lot of bodies but we are very excited for the skill and the leadership within our room. The players have come into camp in great shape and looking to build off a positive season last year. We look forward to moving into the exhibition season currently with 14 forwards, 6 defensemen and 3 goalies”.

Asked if there was any surprises at the camp Scharff  “One surprise was 20 year old Riley Potts, he played with the Coaldale Copperheads of the Heritage Jr B league last year and is Malachi Peigan’s cousin.”
