The Ghostriders lost both games on the weekend, 5-2 in Golden and 3-0 against the Revelstoke Grizzlies.
In Golden the Riders outshot the Rockets 44-20 and probably deserved a better fate but couldn’t score on their many opportunities. They also had to use both goalies. Ben Skarsen scored both Rider goals.
Against Revelstoke the Ghostriders had a 34-23 shot advantage, and they had a few good scoring chances but Austin Seibel made the saves and got his first shutout of the season.

The Ghostriders had several players out of the lineup.Forward Alex Halat was out with a (2G) suspension from the Grand Forks game and top scoring forwards Liam Breakenridge, and Haden Evans missed time with injuries as did D-Men Nate Turton and Koa Percival. Big holes to fill for the low scoring Ghostriders.
Some good news, the Riders acquired forward Parker Cutts from the La Ronge Ice Wolves. The 18 year old had two assists in Golden and looks like a top line player…with a bit of an edge.

Cutts, for those who haven’t clued in, has a Fernie connection, his father William played a couple of games with the Ghostriders and Kimberley back in the JrA RMJHL days, and also played two seasons with the KIJHL Rockies where he was more than a point a game guy. Parker’s Grandmother Evelyn Cutts is a former Mayor of Fernie (when the City was much friendlier to the team) and in 2003 she was named as Fernie’s Citizen of the Year.
In other news Hayden Evans played his 100th KIJHL game in Golden and he could still play next year if he wants to.
The Columbia Valley Rockies pushed former Ghostrider Tayler Sincennes out the door in favour of assistant coach Tucker Braund. They made it sound friendly but you know what that usually means.

Round’ the League
Things don’t get any easier for the Riders, they play the 4th place overall Kimberley Dynamiters on Tuesday. The Nitro’s did the Riders a favour on Friday by beating the Rockies 6-4. After Tuesday the boys travel to Quesnel, Williams Lake and 100 Mile next weekend.
The week after that they play in Columbia Valley then return home on Saturday November 8th to play Princeton.
