Notes from the Weekend Games
The Ghostriders earned three of a possible four points with a 4-1 win in Invermere and a 3-2 OT loss in Castlegar and remain in third place with an 8-9-2-1 record … but have played more games, see the standings below…

Nineteen year old Kael Sevenson has a win and an OT loss so far. Sevenson, with a 15-4 record was named the Neil Murdoch top goalie last year in Sicamous …
Ethan Watkins scored 3 goals (1 on a breakaway) and was named as a game star in both games, and Cole Serdachny scored his first as a Rider in Invermere, a nice backhand top shelf goal, but did not play in Castlegar…
Coden Fournier who had only scored 1 goal but chipped in with 16 assists, scored the first goal in Castlegar…he is clearly talented but the puck hasn’t been going in for him, or the team in general…

Owen MacLeod’s second goal of the season was the game winner in CVR… he has battled and played through some injuries as has D-man Koa Percival who has 8 points in 9 games…
Brayden Vopat, who just came over from Osoyoos, has won most of his face-offs so far and that was an area the Coaches were hoping to improve in. Brayden’s younger brother Nick plays in Osoyoos and his father Roman , a former NHL’er, once coached in Kimberley… in a much more violent era, no privates in those wars…but lotsa majors

Ethan Watkins scored in the first period, Owen MacLeod from Piper and Chown scored in the second period then in the third Ethan Watkins scored his second of the game from Logan and Percival. Cole Serdachny from Buchanan and Percival scored on the power play to make it 4-1. CVR’s Evin Bossel scored and ruined Kael Svenson’s shutout and the game ended 4-1.
The shots were 38-20 Fernie who also went 1-3 on the PP and 3-0 on the PK
Fernie 2 at Castlegar 3 in Overtime

Coden Fournier from Skarsen and Percival scored in the first but CR Brodie Davis also scored tying the game at 1-1. Ethan Watkins scored the only goal in the second then in the third Jayden Spence tied the game at 2-2 and Cooper Barclay scored in OT to win it for the Rebels.
The shots were 34-26 Riders who also went 0-4 on the PP and 2-0 on the PK. Kael Sevenson was in net.
