Ghostriders’ Fisher joins ACAC’s Ooks

Cole Fisher of the Fernie Ghostriders has committed to play for the NAIT Ooks in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference.

Fisher had 10 points in 43 games last season and added seven points in 21 Teck Cup playoff games, helping the Ghostriders play for the Teck Cup championship.

“My time there helped me grow as a player and a person,” said Fisher. “I will always be grateful and proud to have played for the Ghostriders. I greatly enjoyed my time there. My teammates, coaches, billet parents, volunteers and above all, the fans were the best anyone could ask for.”

Fisher is excited to start his journey with the Ooks, whose roster features other KIJHL alumni in Sheldon Kwiatkowski (Creston Valley Thunder Cats), Sean Mitchell (Princeton Posse), McCoy Bidewell (Fernie Ghostriders) and Blake Astorino (Osoyoos Coyotes).

“I feel honoured to be able to play for a team that is rich in tradition and has an excellent program to help me grow as a player and a person,” said Fisher, who is pursuing a career in Instrumentation and added that NAIT has an excellent program to enter that field.
