The Fernie Ghostriders Spring Camp concluded on Sunday April 12th
In his final act with the Ghostriders Assistant Coach and Assistant GM Dante Raposo helped out with the Spring Camp by bringing in players, coaching and keeping everything running smoothly.
Rider News, So Dante how did the camp go last weekend ?
Dante “ It was really good, we had a good turnout of players from all over. We are thankful that kids chose Fernie to be a place they wanted to come try out and see what we were about. It’s a testament to what we’re building towards.
RN, It looked like there were several local players on the ice
Dante Yeah it was really nice to see a lot of the local talent come through, obviously Fernie is in a spot where we don’t have a team higher than U15 in town so we don’t get to see a lot of them throughout the year. I think it’ll be nice to see how a bunch of them develop to create relationships for the future. I’m biased but I think that we set up camp & treat the kids top tier trying to give them the best experience for a lot of their first camp.
RN We won’t see you now until the Ghostrider Main Camp in August
Dante “For me personally I think it was a nice little send off in terms of being the last thing I’ll have my hands on up close. I really enjoyed my time with the older guys that were around, our returning players who came & participate & obviously the staff & board members. This place is in a really good spot & I’m proud, I’m excited to be a tertiary part of the puzzle from afar and watch as a fan. I wish these guys nothing but the most success, they deserve it. They haven’t cheated the game, they’ve done it the right way and I really hope they get rewarded for it
