The Fernie Ghostriders 2025/26 season came to a close after a hard-fought 2-1 loss to the Kimberley Dynamiters in Game 5 of the second round of the KIJHL playoffs on Fri, Mar. 27. It was a disappointing finish for the Riders following late-game heroics in Game 4 from defenseman Nate Turton and forward Alex Singleton that sent Fernie Memorial Arena into a frenzy and the series back to Kimberley for a critical fifth game. Erasing a 3-0 series deficit against the Nitros was always going to be a tall mountain to climb but the Ghostriders pressed until the final buzzer in Game 5, once again generating several chances in the final seconds before the comeback fell short against their cross-valley rivals.
