Who’s not buying a ticket from these Yardapes
The Fernie Ghostriders won both of their games against Golden this weekend, 3-2 in overtime in Golden then 2-1 at home.
And Taylor Haggerty was one of the Three Stars of the Week
Hey look who’s in second place… with games in hand
Golden is in last place and are battling Creston for the final playoff spot, and they played like it, only allowing the Riders to score 5 goals in the two games and killing off 10 power plays. They just might beat out Creston for the final spot. Another Golden note, they, like the Riders, used both goalies in the games. Landon Garbitt Friday and Riley Deck Saturday.

The Rider goals were from Coden Fournier (Thiessen North Peigan) and Keegan Fellows (North Peigan Martin) In the overtime it was Riley Enns (Breakenridge Jones) who scored the game winner after receiving a great pass from Liam Breakenridge… Enns also scored on Saturday.
Two Firsts

D-man Trent Thiessen got his first point on the first goal and goalie Braxton Becker got his first start and win in the Rider net.
Lots of skirmishes and hits in this game that saw the boys stickin up for each other several times.
The goal scorers were Riley Enns (Lambert De La Salle) and Keegan Fellows (Puk Dhillon) . Nick Kunyk was in net and only allowed one goal, and it was off a deflection.
Rookie Dylan Puk did all the work on Keegan Fellows’ game winning goal…he made it happen and is starting to show flashes of brilliance once in a while as is 17 year old Edge HS recruit Liam Samycia who rivals Desjarlais in doggedness.

Keegan Fellows (05) scored in both games and has been a very useful player after Creston gave up on him.
Nice to see two referees on Saturday, we don’t always get two thanks to BC Hockey, HC and the KIJHL office who are just so pleased that the refs can’t do both the BCHL and MH and KIJHL…sorry the referee issue is my hobby horse.
Great to have Malachai North Peigan back in the lineup after his 3 game suspension.
Forward Lucas De La Salle got his first point as a Rider since coming to town a week ago and D-man Dhillon Govind played one of his best games on Saturday and had an assist on the GWG.
The Riders go to Sicamous next Friday, they are no pushovers and won games against Kimberley (6-3) and the first place overall Princeton Possy (4-1) this weekend. Then on Saturday they play in Revelstoke who just won games against Princeton (3-2) and Kimberley 3-2 in OT. We thank both the Eagles and Grizz for the wins.
The Riders return home on Tuesday December 10th to play the Rockies, then go to Invermere on the Friday then play Castlegar here in Fernie on December 14th… Teddy Bear Toss Night. The Riders are asking the fans to put their Bears in plastic bags before throwing them on the ice for sanitary reasons (spit, blood etc) …sorry David Suzuki
This is from the KIJHL Sniper Instagram account where they rated the KIJHL arenas…Fernie did well
